The CNRN in cooperation with the Managing Authority of the Rural Development Program (RDP) 2007-2013, announced the initiation of Public Dialogue to discuss the future of Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) that will follow the year 2013. As a first step, agricultural groups and authorities as well as members of the public involved in rural development were invited to share their views and suggestions with regards to the future of CAP, and especially the future of Rural Development Policy. Their contribution was optional. To facilitate public dialogue, the following three main questions were raised:

A. What should be the objectives of the future rural development policy?

B. How can the policy instruments be made more effective?

C. How can the management of the policy be improved?

Many stakeholders submitted their views and suggestions electronically to the National Rural Network’s e-mail, by 10^th of May, 2010. The members of the National Rural Network were notified regarding the announcement via email and phone as well as a relevant Press Release was distributed to local newspapers. The announcement was also posted on the Department of Agriculture’s webpage, where as farmers were notified accordingly by the Officers of the District Agricultural Offices.
