Promoting renewable energy sources is a central theme on the European level and stimulating the purchase of equipment for producing renewable energy mainly for ensuring the energy demand in farms was a priority for the Rural Development Programs during 2007-2013, inserted in 2009, through the European Economic Recovery Plan. This project is an example of good practice upon the sustainable modernization of a Belgian farm in a small rural locality in the heart of Hesbaye region, which includes four localities: Donceel, Haneffe, Jeneffe and Limont.
