The Hunger Free Latin America and the Caribbean Initiative

The Hunger Free Latin America and the Caribbean Initiative is a commitment from the countries and organizations of the region, supported by the Food and Agricultural Organization from the United Nations (FAO), to contribute to creating the conditions that will allow eradicating hunger permanently by 2025.

The Initiative started during the Latin American Summit on Chronic Hunger carried out in Guatemala in 2005, and it goes more in-depth into the Millennium Objective Goals (MOG), and has as specific, most ambitious goal the fight against hunger. This initiative proposes to reduce the impact of chronic malnutrition in children to below 2.5% in all the countries of the region by 2025.
