A genetic linkage map of tetraploid potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) for Phytophthora infestans and Tecia solanivora quantitative resistance

Advances in molecular and marker assisted selection have been limited due to the problems of high heterozygosity and ploidy in the potato andigenum (adg) group. Recently, high-density SNP-based maps have been developed for diploid and tetraploid potato. In addition, statistical models that include allelic dosage are improving linkage mapping and QTL analysis in autotetraploid potato (Hackett et al., 2014). These approaches have facilitated QTL analysis of agronomic traits such as resistance to P. infestans (Massa et al., 2015). Potato production in Colombia is affected by late blight (P. infestans) and Guatemalan potato tuber moth (T. solanivora) causes losses of up to 100% in the field and storage. Therefore, in order to understand the genetic factors underlying resistance to P. infestans and T. solanivora, the main objective of this research is to construct a high saturation genetic map of tetraploid population SNPs that will be used to map QTL resistance.
