Minister of Agricultural Development of Brazil urges the region to strengthen family farming and food security
During the Inter-American Board of Agriculture meeting hosted by the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in Brasília, Brazil’s Minister of Agricultural Development and Family Farming, Paulo Teixeira, called on countries across the region to strengthen family farming and food security as key pillars for sustainable development. He emphasized the need for cooperation and shared responsibility among nations to ensure that small-scale farmers have access to resources, innovation, and markets. The Minister highlighted that supporting family farming is not only essential for rural livelihoods but also for building resilient food systems across the Americas.
