Collective production of medicinal and aromatic plants
Production of high quality organic aromatic plants allowed a group of 12 farmers to work collaboratively in the face of tough market conditions, thus modernizing agricultural production, improving quality of products and increasing farmers’ incomes. Twelve farmers formed the Cooperative of Agricultural Producers Fafe (COFAFE) to collaborate in the production of high-quality organic Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAP). The main objective of the project was to maximize the income of farmers by ensuring a steady supply chain. The joint action allowed the 12 farmers to produce a cumulative quantity which gives them a better position in the market.
