The National Network of Educational Farms is coordinated by the Agricultural Advisory Headquarters. Voivodeship Agricultural Advisory Centres have also been very much involved in the provision of training, advisory services and in spreading the idea of teaching farms in the regions. On 28-29 November 2013 there was organised the 1st meeting of educational farms operators from all around Poland in Łódz. Over 100 people from all over Poland participated in the event. The conference focused on knowledge exchange among the operators and advisers coordinating educational farms in Poland and on methodology of teaching in a farm. During the workshop the participants learnt how to play with visiting kids and how to practise cooperation, reflex and perception, manual fitness, agility and trust in group. Visit to the Centre of Polish Folklore in Nogawki gave possibilities to get know how to use Skansen museum in carrying out workshops on pottery, weaving, blacksmith works and traditional bread baking.

Farm based teaching is a new and promising way of generating income for farms and was seen as a method for increasing income and diversifying the rural economy. The social mission of educational farms is to disseminate knowledge on rural areas and their social, cultural, historical and natural assets, in particular among children and young people. Educational farms allow for a dialogue to be developed between rural and urban areas, they enrich knowledge on rural and farming issues such as food production, but also increase individual sensitivity and willingness to experience unusual things.
