AcT is an independent Tanzanian non-government organization that provides resources, implements projects and capacity building services to citizens and grassroots civil society organizations so as to enhance their effectiveness in enabling engagement of citizens in sustainable development. It was established in 2000 as regional organization in Morogoro region and later shifted to Dar es Salaam and officially registered as National NGO in 2023 with registration number 00NGO/R/4922 under section 11(1) and 17(2) of Act No.24 of 2002 in the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups. main activities are: 1. Empower the communities on resource governance and environmental conservation. 2. Advocate for good policies and regulations which support resource governance and environment. 3.Raise awareness and strengthen strategic partnerships with like-minded organizations. 4.Promote science, knowledge and technology innovation in resource governance and environmental conservation Mission: To actively involve and engage all stakeholders in resource management, foster the exchange of scientific knowledge in environmental conservation, and assist practitioners in disseminating and implementing development programs based on principles of good governance and accountability in five regions in Tanzania. Vision: AcT envisions seeing Resource governance and environmental conservation is widely promoted in the context of sustainable development.
