Why Girls Tech Ventures (GTV) Exists Girls Tech Ventures (GTV) empowers girls in rural Rwanda through technology, working to bridge the significant gender digital divide. Despite Rwanda’s progress in digital inclusion, young women remain underrepresented—only 4.8% of women had internet access as of July 2021. GTV envisions a future where every girl has the tools to thrive in the digital age through Tech transfer in Agriculture, STEM education, health initiatives, and entrepreneurship. Our core values—advocacy, integrity, excellence, and partnership—guide our mission to create sustainable, gender-inclusive technological opportunities. GTV Model Youth Centers addressing small holder farmers & STEM Clubs – We provide digital training in six youth centers and 20 school-based STEM clubs across public schools and civic gathering. Women Entrepreneurs & Mentors – We support female smallholder farmers through Agri-Tech Transfer, career guidance, business incubation, and industry mentorship. University Tech Students – We encourage female university students in tech to volunteer as trainers, inspiring and equipping rural girls with digital skills. Civic Gatherings & Community Leaders – We collaborate with local communities to identify key challenges, assess opportunities, and train board members, ensuring sustainable, community-driven solutions. Target Population – 1,546,754 females (51.6%) in Rwanda. Strategic Objectives (2025-2027) Establish a Girls Coding Academy – Construct a state-of-the-art Girls Coding Academy for 1,500 girls from marginalized families in rural Rwanda by 2027. Expand Access to Inclusive STEM Education – Provide 18,000 girls with STEM education by 2027. Build a Strong and Sustainable Organization – Foster an environment that attracts innovation, strengthens partnerships, and secures long-term funding to close the gender digital divide by 2027. Empower Girls with Digital Skills for GBV Prevention & SRHR – Equip 6,700 girls with digital literacy to combat Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and promote Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) from 2025 to 2027. Enhance Technology Transfer for Women in Agriculture & Environmental Sustainability – Support 5,000 rural women through tech-driven agricultural initiatives, leveraging local partnerships and resources by 2027.
