Description:
Latek Stay Alliance Uganda is a registered national umbrella organization that brings together over 50 social enterprises and community-based organizations working to reduce poverty through sustainable, locally driven solutions. Established in 2016, Latek supports its members to design, test and scale initiatives that improve livelihoods while promoting self-reliance. The Alliance focuses on three main areas including agriculture and income generation, health, and education using social enterprise models to reduce dependence on external aid and strengthen local capacity. Through training, networking, and joint programming, Latek helps its members improve governance, financial management, and project performance. It coordinates multi-partner programs such as organic cereals, beekeeping, and agroforestry, which enhance household incomes and climate resilience across Uganda. Latek also provides oversight, monitoring, and evaluation to ensure accountability and continuous learning across the network. By linking local innovations to national and international partners, Latek is building a collaborative platform that enables community-based enterprises to grow sustainably. The organization’s mission is rooted in the belief that empowering people to manage their own development leads to lasting change and a Uganda without poverty.
