Comité Coordinador Regional del Codex para Europa (CCEURO) - Coordinador regional: Germany
En 1964, en su segundo período de sesiones, la Comisión del Codex Alimentarius estableció el Comité Coordinador para Europa, que sucedería al “Consejo Europeo del Codex Alimentarius” y sustituiría al "Grupo Consultivo para Europa", creado en su primer período de sesiones en 1963.
La primera reunión del Comité Coordinador para Europa se celebró en julio de 1965 en Berna (Suiza) y a ella asistieron 16 países de la región.
El coordinador actual, Alemania, tiene su sede en el Ministerio Federal de Alimentación y Agricultura (BMEL).
Las prioridades fundamentales de Alemania como coordinador son las siguientes:
- reducir los obstáculos a la participación activa de los miembros de la región en los trabajos del Codex;
- aumentar la sensibilización sobre el papel del Codex y de la inocuidad de los alimentos en general en la transición hacia sistemas alimentarios sostenibles;
- promover el uso de las normas del Codex en los ámbitos prioritarios como la resistencia a los antimicrobianos (RAM).
Con el fin de abordar estas prioridades, el coordinador aprovechará las sinergias de las actividades internacionales y regionales de la Secretaría del Codex, la FAO y la OMS, así como de los observadores del Codex.

Spanish food science and technology associations hold a webinar for World Food Safety Day
The Spanish Federation of Food Science and Technology Associations (FEDALCYTA) held a World Food Safety Day webinar on 7 June that included presentations on ideas around "Inform to train", "Pursuing climate neutrality", "Profiles and training for new skills" and "Official control based on European regulations”.

Food hygiene and horticulture the focus of two World Food Safety Day events in Kyrgyzstan
The Standardization and Metrology Centre of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic and FAO organized an international seminar in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, to mark World Food Safety Day. The seminar focused on food safety in the horticulture sector, which, as the organizers noted, provides “an important component of our diet and a wonderful source of fibre, vitamins, and minerals.”

National authorities, FAO and WHO join forces in Georgia to celebrate World Food Safety Day

Poland’s third World Food Safety Day Food Fakty event has been announced
For the third year, with the support of the World Food Safety Day office, FoodFakty proposes the Polish initiative, FoodFakty Safety Week (FFSW) and will join the global celebrations of World Food Safety Day. The official theme this year is "Food standards save lives".
Together with the FAO/WHO Codex Alimentarius Commission Contact Point for Poland, the 60th anniversary of Codex Alimentarius will also be celebrated.

Food safety lessons for schoolchildren in Portugal on World Food Safety Day
The school meals team at the Municipality of Alcobaça in Portugal organized a special World Food Safety Day event for the children whose meals they oversee. Engineer Ana Pereira and Doctor Cristina António held awareness sessions in their local schools, teaching good food handling practices and why they are important.

Kazakh officials deliver food safety messages in World Food Safety Day video
The National Codex Committee of Kazakhstan has produced a World Food Safety Day 2023 video, in which high-level officials speak about the importance of food safety.

Islamic Organization for Food Security in Kazakhstan celebrates World Food Safety Day
On 7 June, the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) in Kazakhstan welcomed guests to the 7th expert meeting of the Healthy and Safe Food Ecosystem Programme of the IOFS, devoted to the celebration of World Food Safety Day. International expert panel to discuss healthy and safe food in Kazakhstan
The Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) has organized an Expert Meeting for Healthy and Safe Food and a video to celebrate World Food Safety Day on 7 June.
