The 56th Session of the Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues (CCPR56) will be held from 8 to 13 September 2025, at the Intercontinental Hotel, Avenida Vitacura 2885, Las Condes, Santiago, Chile.

REGISTRATION

All delegates participating in the plenary session should provide their information (names and addresses) through the Codex Online Registration System (ORS) by accessing the Login on the Codex website, as soon as possible.
Login and password for online registration have been provided to all Codex Contact Points and Contact Points of Observer Organizations. If the login and password have not been received, please contact [email protected].

WEBCASTING OF PLENARY SESSIONS

The Plenary sessions will be webcast in listening mode only, in English, French and Spanish.
Delegations attending CCPR56 remotely cannot make verbal interventions, and they will not be included in the list of participants of CCPR56.

TIMETABLE FOR THE PLENARY MEETING

---

The session will start at 9:30 AM on Monday 8 September and run until 6:00 PM. Session will begin at 9:00 AM on subsequent days.

Coffee breaks are expected to last from 10:30 AM-11:00 AM and from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM between Monday 8 September and Thursday 11 September.

Lunch breaks are expected to last from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM on Monday 8 September and from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM between Tuesday 9 September and Thursday 11 September.

A tentative timetable will be available for advance notice of Codex members and observers participating in the plenary session.

The timetable remains flexible to be adjusted according to the progress made on the different items of the Provisional Agenda and as such it remains as an advisory document to guide the discussion over plenary session.

VIRTUAL MEETINGS OF WORKING GROUPS

The upcoming virtual meetings of the Working Groups (WGs) will address and, if possible, resolve the matters highlighted in the relevant working papers to facilitate consideration and decision-making by the forthcoming CCPR. The participation of Codex members and observers is crucial for the success of these meetings. The times allocated to each WG are flexible and dependent on the complexity of the subject matter.

Agenda:

• Guidelines for monitoring the purity and stability of reference materials and related stock solutions of pesticides during prolonged storage (Agenda item 7)
• Enhancement of the operational procedures of CCPR and JMPR (Agenda item 10)
• Management of unsupported compounds without public health concern scheduled for periodic review (Agenda item 8.1) (subject to availability of time)

The primary focus of these meetings will be on finalizing the Guidelines for reference materials, specifically those sections that have been revised or added based on the mandate provided by CCPR55 (2024) to the Electronic Working Group. Additionally, the virtual pre-meeting will discuss short-term approaches to enhance the capacity of JMPR and CCPR, which will be put forward for consideration by CCPR56, including, if time allows, the conclusions and recommendations on unsupported compounds without public health concern scheduled for periodic review.

Codex members and observers are kindly invited to work constructively to make recommendations to facilitate consideration and decision-making by CCPR.

JMPR Reports
The report of the regular meeting of the Joint FAO/WHO Meeting on Pesticide Residues (JMPR) that took place in September 2024 is available from the FAO and WHO websites concerning MRL recommendations arising from this Meeting (Agenda Item 6.1) and as background information for matters for consideration under Agenda Items 5(a) and 5(b). JMPR reports are available in English only.

Working Documents
Documents for consideration by CCPR56 will be published on this page as soon as they become available. They will be available in English, French and Spanish. Some working documents may be available in English or original language only. Conference Room Documents (CRDs) will be kept in original language. No printed copies of working documents will be made available for the plenary session.

The draft report will be available in English, French and Spanish. Appendices will be available in English only. The draft report and appendices will not be printed but will be made available online.
