Codex Committee on Food Labelling

GENERAL INFORMATION
The 49th Session of the Committee on Food Labelling (CCFL49) will be held in Ottawa, Canada from 11 - 15 May 2026.
The plenary session of CCFL49 (11 – 13 and 15 May) and the PWG (10 May) will also be a hybrid meeting in English, French and Spanish, and also the webcasted on YouTube. The link for webcasting will be available on this page before the plenary session.

Practical information for delegates is available here. The programme will be available here when it becomes available.

REMOTE PARTICIPATION VIA ZOOM
The plenary sessions, a virtual working group (5 May), and a physical working group (10 May) will allow remote participation (via Zoom) for registered delegates from Codex Members and Observers, with listening and verbal interventions in English, French, and Spanish.
The link will be shared with those delegates who have registered through the Codex Online Registration System.

WORKING DOCUMENTS
Documents for consideration by CCFL49 will be published on this page as soon as they become available.
They will be available in English, French and Spanish.
No printed copies of working documents, including the draft report, will be made available for the plenary session.

WORKING GROUPS (WG)
The following two WGs are planned (English, French and Spanish):
  • VWG on food labelling provisions in emergencies: 5 May 2026, 9:00 – 12:30 EDT (15:00 – 18:30 CEST), Timetable, Meeting Registration - Zoom
  • PWG on use of precautionary allergen labelling: 10 May 2026, 9:30 – 16:30 EDT (15:30 – 22:30 CEST), Timetable, to be held at Rogers Centre Ottawa.
Access to the virtual WG meeting will be provided following registration to the main CCFL Session.

These WGs are aimed at facilitating discussion in the CCFL plenary.
Delegates who will participate in CCFL are particularly encouraged to participate in these WGs.

WEBCASTING
PWG on use of precautionary allergen labelling is webcasted in English, French and Spanish.
Plenary Day 1: English, French and Spanish.
Plenary Day 2: English, French and Spanish.
Plenary Day 3: English, French and Spanish.
Adoption of the Report: English, French and Spanish.

ONLINE PRE-REGISTRATION
All participants should provide their information (names and addresses) through the Codex Online Registration System (ORS) by accessing the link below, by 11 April 2026 at the latest.

Login and password for the online registration have been provided to all Codex Contact Points and Contact Points of Observer Organizations.
