GENERAL INFORMATION

The 48th Session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC48) will be held physically at FAO headquarters, (Plenary Hall), Rome, Italy from 10 to 14 November 2025.

The plenary discussions will take place from Monday, 10 November to Wednesday, 12 November, from 10.00 to 13.00 (CET) and 15.00 to 18.00 (CET), with the option of an evening session on Wednesday 12 if required. The adoption of the report of the session will be held on Friday 14 November starting from 10.00 CET.

The working methods for CAC48 are detailed in an appendix to the agenda (enclosed). All Members should plan to have at least one delegate attend the session in-person, as in-person participation is the only means by which Members can take part in all forms of decision-making available to the Commission, including secret ballot should it be required.

The opening session will begin at 10.00 (CET) on Monday, 10 November 2025. Registration facilities will open on Monday, 10 November from 7:30 AM.

PLEASE NOTE: CAC48 registration is via FAO registration system.
Members of the Commission and international organizations with Observer Status with the Codex Alimentarius Commission are kindly requested to complete their registration through their Codex Contact Points and focal points, respectively, using the link sent in the invitation.

The Session will be conducted in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.
