GENERAL INFORMATION

---

The 47th Session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC47) will be held physically at the Centre International de Conférences (CICG), (Room Amphitheatre D, Level 1), Geneva, Switzerland from 25 to 30 November 2024.

The plenary discussions will take place from Monday, 25 November to Thursday, 28 November, from 10.00 to 13.00 (CET) and 15.00 to 18.00 (CET), with the option of an evening session if required. The adoption of the report of the session will be held on Saturday 30 November from 10.00 CET (interpretation available up to 19:00).

In view of the elections for Chairperson and vice-Chairpersons of the Commission to be held at CAC47, all Members should plan to have at least one delegate attend the session in-person, as in-person participation is the only means by which Members can take part in all forms of decision-making available to the Commission, including secret ballot should it be required.

Remote participation (via Zoom) will be possible for listening and verbal interventions, subject to endorsement by CAC47 under Agenda item 1 more details will be published shortly in CX/CAC 24/47/1 Add.1);

The opening session will begin at 10.00 (CET) on Monday, 25 November 2024. Registration facilities will open on Sunday, 24 November from 14:00 to 17:00 (CET) and on Monday, 25 November at 07.30 (CET). To facilitate planning of your participation, please note there will be side event on Friday 29 November.

The Session will be conducted in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.
