Codex Alimentarius Commission

GENERAL INFORMATION
The 46th Session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC46) will be held physically at FAO headquarters, (Plenary Hall), Rome, Italy from 27 November to 2 December 2023.

The plenary discussions will take place from Monday, 27 November to Thursday, 30 November, from 10.00 to 13.00 (CET) and 15.00 to 18.00 (CET), with the option of an evening session if required. The adoption of the report of the session will be held on Saturday 2 December from 10.00 CET (interpretation available up to 19:00). Remote participation (via Zoom) will be possible for listening and verbal interventions; however, all Members should plan to have at least one delegate attend the session in-person, as in-person participation is the only means by which Members can take part in all forms of decision-making available to the Commission.

The opening session will begin at 10.00 (CET) on Monday, 27 November 2023. Registration facilities will open on Sunday, 26 November from 10:30 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00 (CET) and on Monday, 27 November at 07.30 (CET). Side events will be held on Friday, 1 December 2023.

The Session will be conducted in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.

This year also marks the 60th Anniversary of the Codex Alimentarius Commission which will be celebrated on the first day of the Session.
