GENERAL INFORMATION
The 26th Session of the Codex Committee on Food Import and Export Inspection and Certification Systems (CCFICS26) will be held from 1-5 May 2023, at the kind invitation of the Government of Australia.
The meeting will be a hybrid meeting allowing for physical and virtual participation, including the ability to make interventions virtually.
The adoption of the report will take place on Friday 5 May 2023.
The Session will be conducted in English, French and Spanish.

On-site Registration
On-site registration to collect badges and other materials will be available on:
Sunday 30 April 2023 from 08:30 – 11:00 AEST
Monday 1 May 2023 from 08:30 – 09:30 AEST

PRE-CCFICS26 WEBINAR
A pre-session webinar, which also will address first time participants, will be organized on Monday 24 April 2023 from 11:00 to 12:30 CEST / 19:00-20:30 AEST (UTC +10). It will be conducted in English, French and Spanish.

HYBRID WORKING GROUP
A hybrid working group on the Proposed draft consolidated Codex Guidelines related to equivalence will take place on Sunday 30 April 2023 from 09:00 – 12:30 AEST. This working group will be a fully hybrid session conducted in English, French and Spanish.

SIDE EVENTS
The following side events will be held on the margins of CCFICS26:

  • A side event to support plenary discussions on the review and update of the Principles for Traceability/Product Tracing as a Tool Within a Food Inspection and Certification System (CXG 60-2006) scheduled for Monday 17:00-18:30 AEAST,

  • A side event on WCO’s work on Paperless Trade scheduled for Tuesday 12:30-13:15 AEST.

    ACCOMMODATION

    Following special rates are available for CCFICS26 participants:
  • AUD 220 for City Side Room

  • AUD 255 for Harbour View Room


  • The hotel will release special rate rooms to the normal rate according to the following schedule.

  • 15/02/2023 - 20% of the unsold special rate rooms will be released

  • 01/03/2023 – 50% of the unsold special rate rooms will be released

  • 29/03/2023 – all but 5 of the remaining unsold rooms will be released

  • All delegates are encouraged to secure a hotel reservation as early as possible.

    PRE-CCFICS26 VIRTUAL MEETINGS
    CCFICS Equivalence Virtual Workshop, 21 September 2022

    In preparation for CCFICS26, the electronic Working Group (eWG) for Equivalence held a CCFICS Equivalence virtual workshop.
    The workshop took place on 21 September 2022 and addressed the following workstreams of the eWG:

    Workstream 1: Draft guidelines on recognition and maintenance of equivalence of national food control systems.

    Workstream 2: Draft consolidated Codex guidelines related to equivalence.

    Food Fraud virtual workshop/webinar, 8 February 2023

    The workshop was used to advance the drafting of the proposed draft Guidance on the Prevention and Control of Food Fraud, which will be considered at CCFICS26.
