Japan’s Food Safety Management Association to host a World Food Safety Day webinar

A World Food Safety Day 2022 webinar will be hosted by Japan’s Food Safety Management Association (JFSM) on 7 June “to provide an opportunity to think about food safety and to have a dialogue to ensure the delivery of safe food”.

Under JFSM’s slogan, “safe food for everyone, everywhere”,the event will be split into two sessions. The first session will start with introductory remarks from the Directors of the Food Manufacturing Division and the Food Business Conduct Office, both at Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. JFSM’s President, Tetsuro Ohba, will then give an update on JFSM and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) activities before handing over to Hajime Toyofuku, Professor of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Yamaguchi University and member of the JFSM Working Group on Standards. He will give a keynote speech on the Codex General Principles of Food Safety 2020.

In the second half of the proceedings, event sponsors, will offer lectures. These will include presentations from Mitsubishi Research Institute, Inc. and from the Manager of the Quality Assurance Department at Nippon Ham Co., Mitsuhiro Naito, who will talk about key points of recent JFSM guidelines.
