World Food Safety Day / Students in Peru spread food safety awareness

In celebration of World Food Safety Day 2025 under the theme “Food Safety: Science in Action,” students from the Faculty of Hospitality Management, Tourism, and Gastronomy at Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola (Peru) organized a seminar and hands-on awareness activities highlighting the importance of proper handwashing and the distinction between washing and disinfecting to prevent foodborne illnesses.

Led by Professor Alejandra Longa López, the activities were carried out as part of the course Sanitation and Hygiene of Food and Beverages. The event featured expert guest speakers including Ing. Teresa Apaza from the Ministry of Health, journalist Kathy Villalobos, and Ing. Luis Torres from the accreditation body Archind.
