Turkey will host a week-long series of in-depth “food safety talks”

07/06/2021

Starting on World Food Safety Day itself, and lasting for a full week, Turkey’s series of “food safety talks” will cover a comprehensive programme of key food safety issues and concerns. The Turkish Food Safety Association (TFSA) has invited national and international guests to discuss a range of issues, starting on 7 June with the World Food Safety Day theme “food safety now for a healthy tomorrow.” On subsequent days, discussions will cover “Food Loss and Waste” on 8 June and “Viruses, Antibiotic Resistance, One Health and more …” on Wednesday, 9 June. On the Thursday and Friday, the topics will be “Climate Change and Food Safety” and “Looking into the future of Food Safety” respectively.

Representatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) will contribute, along with speakers from the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and the European Commission. There will also be a number of national speakers from academia, industry and government.

The talks will take place on the zoom platform and be available live on YouTube. The recordings will then be available on the YouTube platform.
