CAC48 / The CODEX magazine “Together” out now!
The annual CODEX magazine has launched just ahead of the 48th Session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC), which will take place in Rome 10–14 November.
Taking the theme that has been adopted also for CAC48, the magazine is titled “Together”, and touches on some of the ways in which the development and adoption of Codex texts depend on and benefit from a collective approach by Members. The magazine is comprised of articles written from diverse perspectives, including those of some Members and Observers, the Chairperson and Vice-Chairpersons of the Commission, the parent organizations and members of the Codex Secretariat.
Following what is now an established format, the magazine also provides a short summary of the achievements of each of the committees that met in the period since CAC47, with the perspective of committee chairpersons and chairs of expert groups. In addition, the Codex scorecard has been updated.
CAC museum tours
For those who will be attending CAC48, there will be an opportunity to visit the new FAO Museum, which launched as part of this year’s FAO 80th anniversary celebrations. Recognized as a cornerstone of FAO work, Codex features prominently in the museum, which explores FAO’s work over the span of its 80-year history.
