Morocco faculty to host World Food Safety Day conference

To mark World Food Safety Day, the Faculté des Sciences et Techniques de Tanger will hold a physical conference under the theme of “Safe food now for a healthy tomorrow.”

The 7 June event will consist of three subject areas:

“Ionization technology for the development of Moroccan agriculture” from Dr Said Zantar of the Tangier National Institute of Agronomic Research

“Food safety: towards anti-microbial and biodegradable packaging” from Professor Mounir Hassani Zerrouk, of the Polydisciplinary Faculty of Larache

“Bioresources at the service of the agro-industry” from Professor Sanaa Cherroud from the Khenifra Higher School of Technology

To support this event, Saber Mansour, Food Safety Consultant for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) recorded a video message about World Food Safety Day, reminding viewers that there is no food security without food safety and that food safety makes a positive contribution to economies and to the alleviation of poverty.
