To celebrate World Food Safety Day 2025 under the global theme “Food Safety: Science in Action,” the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), India’s National Standards Body, will host a national-level webinar to spotlight the scientific foundation of food safety standards.

This virtual event, titled “Research-Driven Standards for Food Safety”, will highlight a range of Research and Development projects initiated and supported by BIS, showcasing how research and evidence-based approaches play a vital role in the formulation of food safety standards. The objective is to demonstrate how science underpins the development of robust food standards that protect consumer health and enable safe food trade.
