More than 2900 food industry professionals attended FoodFakty Safety Week – an annual event celebrating World Food Safety Day in Poland

21/06/2022

FoodFakty Safety Week was the biggest event in Poland celebrating the World Food Safety Day. The idea behind it was to create a space for debate, bringing in a wide array of knowledge backgrounds and perspectives around food safety by inviting participants involved in various stages of food production and distribution.

FoodFakty Safety Week 2022 took place on 6–10 of June and comprised daily webinars and Q&A sessions. Lectures were given by over 40 experts from governmental authorities, public institutions, universities and the private sector, during which participants presented and exchanged experiences on food safety and quality topics.

In total, 2,900 people from 800 companies attended the online events of FoodFakty Safety Week. “We always strive for a broad range of views and perspectives, as well as the involvement of as many industry professionals as possible. During each event we ask the participants questions about the evaluation of the event and the preparation of the speakers. This time the ratings were probably the best to date, averaging with over 96% of participants fully satisfied with the content of the event. This shows how high the industry’s interest in food safety is” – said Janusz Olejnik, CEO and Founder of FoodFakty Project (Food Safety Culture Initiative PL).

The program of FoodFakty Safety Week was centered around the slogan of World Food Safety Day 2022 – “Food safety is everyone’s business” and the five global challenges:

1. Ensuring food safety – governments must ensure safe and nutritious food for all

2. Producing safely – farmers and food producers must apply good practices

3. Staying safe – operators must ensure that food is safe

4. Communicating what’s safe – consumers need to learn about safe and healthy food

5. Joining forces for safety – let's work together for safe food and good health!

This event would not have happened without the support and participation of partners.
