Japan World Food Safety Day set for 10 June

Japan’s Food Safety Day 2021 will be held online on 10 June, hosted by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) Japan local group. The 4-hour seminar will be dedicated to “thinking about the safety of food and the benefits it brings.”

There will be four parts to the event, which will include presentations and discussion.

The first part will explore the recent updates to the key Codex text on the General Principles of Food Hygiene and related HACCP guidelines, with a talk from Professor Hajime Toyofuku, from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Yamaguchi University, and there will be additional HACCP-related papers from Nobuyuki Tsuzuki, Section Chief of the Cabinet Office, Food Safety Commission Secretariat and Mr. Jiro Morikawa, President of Ikkoen Co., Ltd.

The second part will explore GFSI and Japan’s food export market, while a discussion will then follow on “Certification Program Owner” (CPO) with updates on recent GFSI news to close.

The event is aimed at food companies, professionals involved in food safety management, those involved in food safety administration and students of food safety.
