World Food Safety Day webinar planned in Argentina

The Argentinian Food Safety Commission (Comisión Argentina de Inocuidad Alimentaria - CAIA) has organized a webinar for World Food Safety Day, in collaboration with the Argentinian Microbiology Association (the Asociación Argentina de Microbiología – AAM). The event will take place on 6 June.

CAIA’s President, Fabiana Guglielmone, and Vice-President, Fernando Gallegos Sola will open a programme comprising five presentations:

-        "Thinking about the future of food safety"

from Marisa Caipo, Food Safety and Quality Officer of the Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)

-        "Introduction to genomic epidemiology for the investigation of foodborne disease outbreaks"

from Isabel Chinen of the National Institute for Infectious Diseases (INEI) at the National Administration of Laboratories and Health Institutes (Administración Nacional de Laboratorios e Institutos de Salud “Dr. Carlos G. Malbrán” - ANLIS Malbrán)

-        "Applied metagenomics in the food industry" Juan Martín Oteiza

from the Argentinian Centre for Research and Technical Assistance to Industry (CONICET/CIATI) 

-        "Lessons learned by the food industry from recent foodborne disease outbreaks"

from Bruno Sechet of the food safety and quality control company, INTEGRALIM 

-        "Soft skills in the communication of safety culture"

from Maria Claudia Degrossi at the food safety and quality consultancy, QCS.

The event will conclude with a question-and-answer session
