World Food Safety Day / FAO in Georgia is training cheesemakers on food safety standards

In Georgia, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has been training farmers, and especially women farmers, on modern dairy farming practices and innovative cheese production methods as well as in relevant food safety standards.

The Farmer Field School-based training is facilitated by FAO, and the training is made possible through a Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) project, implemented in partnership with UN Women, as well as the European Union (EU) and Sweden under the European Neighbourhood Program for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD) IV programme.
