Elections for the Chairperson and Vice-Chairpersons of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC) have seen the officers re-elected for a second term. In short statements responding to the election results, all four officers have expressed their sense of honour at having been re-elected and their commitment to the work of the Codex Alimentarius Commission:

Allan Azegele (Kenya), Chairperson
“I am truly honoured to be re-elected as Chairperson of CAC. The most exciting part of this renewed mandate is the opportunity to continue working with our global Codex family to strengthen food safety and fair trade through science-based standards”

Jing Tian (China), Vice-Chairperson
"I am deeply honoured to continue serving as Vice-Chairperson of the Codex Alimentarius Commission. In this role, I will continue to work hand in hand with the Chairperson, my fellow Vice-Chairpersons, and all Members and Observers to strengthen Codex’s contribution to protecting consumer health and promoting fair food trade through science and collaboration. Guided by the spirit of harmony and shared progress, I believe our collective efforts will help build a safer and more sustainable global food system for everyone, everywhere."

Khalid AlZhrani (Saudi Arabia), Vice-Chairperson
