The Iran National Standards Organization (INSO) will celebrate World Food Safety Day this year with the cooperation of some organizations including the Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology (IROST) and the National Nutrition and Food Technology Research Institute (NNFTRI) in recognition of the 60th anniversary of Codex Alimentarius.

INSO is planning to hold an in-person event titled “The Future of Food Safety” for World Food Safety Day on 13 June, which will take place in Tehran in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

This event will attract stakeholders and food professionals from the industry, academia, and regulatory bodies with the theme “Food standards save lives” and share food safety issues with all those involved in the food chain. The speakers will be speaking on the food safety topics as follows:

• The future perspective of food safety
• Food safety - risk assessment
• Food safety, challenges, opportunities, and threats ahead
• Development of innovation in food and agriculture
• The role of standards in promoting food safety
