On 6 June, the National Institute for Quality Control in Health, INCQS/Fiocruz, held a symposium to celebrate World Food Safety Day under the theme “Food Safety: Science in Action.” 

The event gathered around 200 participants and featured expert presentations from the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (ANVISA), the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA), and INCQS highlighting key topics such as chemical contaminants in food, the role of proficiency testing, and the link between ultra-processed foods and noncommunicable diseases.
