FAO and WHO are hosting an Asia Pacific webinar to observe World Food Safety Day 2025 under the theme ‘Food Safety: Science in Action’.

The objectives of the webinar are to raise awareness about the role of science in food safety and share knowledge and best practices to generate data and scientific evidence to inform policy decisions and formulate national food safety standards.

The proposed webinar is aimed at food safety regulators from various sectors, businesses, and disciplines, including consumers, academia, and students. A panel discussion will include experts from Australia, India, Japan, Nepal, and Singapore. It is expected to make the target audience aware of the science behind food safety decisions and to strengthen science-based policy decisions on food safety in their respective countries or organizations.
