Japanese restaurant company celebrates World Food Safety Day
A Japanese restaurant company, Zensho, took part in World Food Safety Day for the third consecutive year. The company organized various events to provide its employees with the opportunity to practice food safety with the theme "Science in action." An internal video was created to reaffirm that actions such as handwashing contribute to food safety. A bulletin board promoted World Food Safety Day participation, which included a food safety quiz. In addition, a meeting was held with food safety officers.
As a result, more than 3,000 people from seven countries, including the United States of America and the United Kingdom, participated in one or more of the above events.
Zensho also created an internal guidebook based on Codex standards to promote and practice food safety throughout the organization. By sharing the understanding that “Food safety is the first priority” and “Everyone's food safety behaviour is important,” the company promotes ongoing education to foster a positive food safety culture.
