Empowering farmers through Digital Integration
Join the Global Digital Readiness Assessment Launch!
Integrating digital tools into Farmer Field Schools (FFS) is essential for engaging farmers, especially young ones, and ensuring their informed participation. Digital platforms can expand access to timely information, training, and marketing opportunities, facilitating peer learning and networking. However, digital technologies can deepen inequalities if not implemented inclusively. Understanding the local digital ecosystem is crucial to support engagement that aligns with the Principles for Digital Development, focusing on tools that fit local needs and consider youth, women, and other subgroups. This approach avoids exclusion and supports gender equality in agrifood systems.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has launched a Digital Readiness Assessment in Syria and Mozambique to understand the actual and potential use of digital technologies by FFS master trainers, facilitators, and farmers, with a strong focus on enhancing the engagement of women and youth.
Join us to discover the Digital Readiness Assessment, its key components, and how it supports inclusive digital growth in agriculture.
