With the SDG deadlines looming ever closer, and with decades of mismanagement of the world’s soil and water behind us, the time is now for a dramatic shift in approaches to protect and rejuvenate Mother Nature’s twin children – soil and water. Co-organized by the FAO Land and Water Division and the Farmer Field School (FFS) & Soil Doctors in the Office of Innovation, this side event will take place under Plenary 2: Reversing Land and Soil Degradation, Restoring Ecosystems.
This session will emphasize the critical role of co-producing agroecological literacy through the Farmer Field School approach, fostering collaboration among academia, extension services, and farmers. Together, we’ll explore practical experiences and success stories that highlight sustainable management of land, soil, and water resources.
