Background: FAO developed an e-learning course on formulation of FFS programmes, which was completed in September 2024 and officially launched two months later. The e-learning course received a lot of attention and the Global FFS team in OIN received requests for additional in-person training on this topic. The Global FFS team and CFI have developed a in person training that they first want to pilot in FAO-HQ before using it for training people in the different regions and in other organizations.

Objective: The objective of the training is to enable participants to design projects that include an FFS component. The integration of the FFS approach into development projects has increased significantly in recent years. It has been observed that FFS activities are often not properly formulated, and the allocated budget is frequently very limited. This highlights the need to support project designers to avoid facing urgent and critical issues during project implementation.

A first session was held in November 2025. This second session, planned for 28 January, will complement and finalize the training.
