| Dry
and moist |
Locally available
ingrediants can be used, can be easily prepared, feeds are available on
site. With the use of small equipments/ machinery, pellets can be
prepared which can last longer than moist feeds. Cost of feed is
generally low. |
Due to low water
stability, leaching of nutrients is high, resulting in poor water
quality and poor FCRs. Uncooked starch not very digestible and may
contain anti-nutritional factors. |
Moist feed (30%), dry feed
(10%) |
For spawn/early fry,the
ingrediants are powdered and mixed and broadcasted while for
fingerling/ongrower the dough is prepared by hand and given either in feeding
trays or feeding bags. Dry pellets are using small machines and are sundried. |
