The target species is defined as the species or the group of species searched by the fisherman and targeted by a specific "métier".

The accessory species are the associated species and other commercial species caught at the same time and with the same "métier" than the target species.

The standardisation of the target species was carried out according to the typology of data collected. We standardised all the available data on the species, grouping them in the main families, using the scientific names of the family.
