FAO/PARIS21 - Workshop on strengthening food and agricultural systems in Africa

In collaboration with several International Agencies, a Workshop on "Strengthening Food and Agricultural Systems in Africa" will be organized just prior to the 19th AFCAS Session.

This followed the success of the 16th, 17th and 18th sessions of AFCAS where such back-to-back technical workshops were organized.

Purpose
The workshop will focus on addressing and sharing experiences on:

Theme 1: good practices and innovative methods in agricultural statistics
Theme 2: strategic planning, capacity building, advocacy for agricultural statistics
Theme 3: statistical development and capacity building activities of other partner agencies in Africa

Participants
The workshop will bring together data users (Heads of PRSP and Food Security Programmes, Research and planning institutions); data producers (Directors of National Statistics Offices and Directors of National Agricultural Statistics Services); concerned international, regional, sub-regional and bilateral agencies as well as regional training centres.
