The Committee considered that the MRLs for benzylpenicillin established at its 36th meeting remained appropriate and were applicable to residues resulting from the use of procaine benzylpenicillin. On the basis of the available data, the recommended tissues for regulatory monitoring are kidney or liver, while muscle is considered to be the target tissue for testing for international trade purposes.
