Since 2012, the Forest and Farm Facility (FFF) has worked to strengthen forest and farm producer organizations (FFPOs) representing an estimated 1.5 billion forest and farm producers globally. Throughout Phase 1 (2012–2017, USD 19 million) and Phase 2 (2018–2026, USD 65 million), the FFF has shown that investing directly in FFPOs is an effective way of advancing multiple sustainable development goals at once.
Building on more than a decade of direct investment in 420 FFPOs across 15 countries, this five-day global conference will showcase the transformative role of FFPOs in agrifood systems as well as the FFF’s impressive track record, operational efficiency and ability to deliver significant impacts across environmental, economic and social outcomes.
As Phase 2 draws to a close, the key question is: How can the FFF model be scaled to accelerate the uptake of productive forests and agroforestry worldwide? The global conference will bring together key stakeholders to explore and answer that question.
Programme structure and session highlights
The conference will combine high‑level dialogues, evidence‑based case studies and interactive working sessions to move from shared learning to concrete commitments for scaling FFPO‑led transformation.
Day 1 – Producers and policies
The opening day focuses on the role of FFPOs in shaping more inclusive and resilient agrifood systems. Sessions will explore organizational development, including governance, gender equity, Indigenous knowledge and youth engagement, alongside policy advocacy and regenerative outcomes at farm and landscape levels.
Day 2 – Inclusive business models, markets and green jobs
Day 2 highlights the contributions of FFPOs to sustainable growth, innovation and restoration. Sessions will examine how producer organizations unlock finance and markets, foster cooperative models, use digital platforms for green businesses, and support smallholder agroforestry and community forestry.
Day 3 – Global initiatives that scale action
The third day will spotlight the Global Productive Forest Initiative (GPFI) within the Plan to Accelerate Solutions (PAS) TERRA of the COP30 Action Agenda as a driver of food security, income generation and climate action. Sessions will present TERRA’s five acceleration levers designed to scale agroecological and agroforestry practices, expand partnerships with financial institutions, and introduce Champion Countries and Friends of TERRA.
Days 4 and 5 – Field visit to Concepción
For the final two days, the conference will move to Concepción, where participants will experience firsthand how the FFF approach has been implemented in the Chiquitania region. Field visits to local producer organizations will facilitate peer learning, dialogue with community leaders and stronger partnerships for scaling impact.
