Forests and economies: sustainable production and bioeconomy pathways

Join FAO on 19 March for a hybrid global technical event marking this year’s International Day of Forests and discover why forests are vital to healthy economies.

Co-organized by FAO and the Group of Friends on Bioeconomy for Sustainable Food and Agriculture, the event will bring together representatives of the public and private sectors, including producer associations to highlight sustainable production and market development for forest products and contributions to the bioeconomy.

Participants will present country experiences and discuss opportunities, bottlenecks and critical enablers, such as technical training, the inclusion of Indigenous Peoples and local communities, women and youth, and investment.

The event will be delivered in hybrid format and livestreamed.
