وصف : The Asia-Pacific Forestry Commission (APFC) is one of six FAO Regional Forestry Commissions that cover the world's major geographic regions. The APFC is a forum for advising and taking action on key forestry issues. It focuses on issues pertinent to Asia and the Pacific, a region characterized by its diversity and rapid changes. The Commission’s Executive Committee comprises the elected officers of the Commission and representatives of the APFC Secretariat. The Executive Committee provides inter-sessional guidance to APFC activities including planning for future sessions. This is a closed (by invitation-only) meeting.

وصف : Extraordinary session of the Committee on Mediterranean Forestry Questions-Silva Mediterranea. This Extraordinary session is held in order to present more in details than during the COFO plenary (27/09/2012 - Decisions and recommendations of FAO Bodies of Interest to the Committee) to member states and main partners the recommendations of the 21st session of the Committee on Mediterranean Forestry Questions-Silva Mediterranea held in Antalya (2/3 february 2012). For several reasons some countries/partners cannot attend our session in Antalya at the beginning of February 2012. 2 hours are needed with a presentation of the main recommendations of the 21st session of the Committee on Mediterranean Forestry Questions-Silva Mediterranea (Christophe BESACIER - 20 minutes) - the presentation and debate on the road map of the Turkish Presidency for the period 2012-2016 (Ismail BELEN - 40 minutes including information on the new working groups on UPF by Michelle GAUTHIER and on Desertification and Restoration by Nora BERRAHMOUNI). At the end, one hour will be focused on the chapter 3 of the State on Mediterranean Forests (chapter III of the SoMF is focused on ‘’Forest policies, institutions and legal frameworks’’) for discussion/approval by Silva Mediterranea representatives of General Direction in charge of Forests.
