Vision and strategy for a global initiative in forest education

The culmination of the FAO-ITTO-IUFRO global forest education project was the preparation of a vision and strategy for a multi-partner, multi-year initiative in forest education.

The vision and strategy was prepared by FAO, ITTO and IUFRO along with other members of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests.

An integral part of the vision and strategy on forest education was strategic communication approaches for promoting a better understanding of sustainable forest management and raising the profile of forestry professions in educational curricula and with the general public. These strategic communication approaches will be developed with the input of the Regional Forestry Communicators Networks.
