Vision and strategy for a global initiative in forest education

The culmination of the FAO-ITTO-IUFRO global forest education project will be the preparation of a vision and strategy for a multi-partner, multi-year initiative in forest education.  This is envisaged as a possible Joint Initiative of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests.

The vision and strategy will be prepared by FAO, ITTO and IUFRO along with other members of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests.  A proposal for a Joint CPF Initiative on Forest Education, based on the vision and strategy document, will be presented to the CPF for consideration.

An integral part of the vision and strategy on forest education will be strategic communication approaches for promoting a better understanding of sustainable forest management and raising the profile of forestry professions in educational curricula and with the general public. These strategic communication approaches will be developed with the input of the Regional Forestry Communicators Networks.
