CFS Policy Recommendations

Use and application of CFS policy recommendations on price volatility and food security, and social protection for food security and nutrition

The Committee on World Food Security (CFS) has consistently encouraged stakeholders to voluntarily share their experiences and good practices in applying CFS policy products through reporting individual (direct) experiences by one group of stakeholders or through reporting the results of multi-stakeholder consultations or events (organized to discuss experiences) by several groups of stakeholders.

Multistakeholder Partnerships to Finance and Improve Food Security and Nutrition in the Framework of the 2030 Agenda - HLPE e-consultation on the Report’s scope, proposed by the HLPE Steering Committee

During its 43rd Plenary Session (17-21 October 2016), the CFS requested the HLPE to produce a report on “Multistakeholder Partnerships to Finance and Improve Food Security and Nutrition in the Framework of the 2030 Agenda” to be presented at CFS45 Plenary session in October 2018.
As part of its report elaboration process, the HLPE is launching an e-consultation to seek views and comments on the following scope and building blocks of the report, outlined below, as proposed by the HLPE Steering Committee.

Food Security and Nutrition Programme for Kyrgyzstan in Action – in search of an efficient policy implementation

The objective of the face-to-face Forum was to review challenges and to identify ways for an efficient implementation of the Food Security and Nutrition Program (FSNP) in the Kyrgyz Republic, including a stronger engagement of various stakeholders in a policy dialogue. The aim was also to strengthen the impact of the recent online-consultation on the program processes, including design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

Nutrition and Food Systems - HLPE consultation on the V0 draft of the Report

At its 42nd session in October 2015, the UN Committee on World Food Security (CFS) requested the High Level Panel of Experts on Food Security and Nutrition (HLPE) to prepare a report on Nutrition and Food Systems. This report is expected to be presented at CFS 44 in October 2017.

As part of the process of elaboration of its reports, the HLPE is organizing a consultation to seek inputs, suggestions, and comments on the present V0 draft.

Pollination is responsible for providing us with a wide variety of food, affecting 35 percent of the world’s crop production and increasing outputs of 87 of the leading food crops worldwide. However, human activity has put a large pressure on pollinators jeopardizing entire ecosystems and the production of nutritious foods. What is being done and which further steps need to be taken to protect pollinators and promote their role in environmental and agricultural practices?
