المنتدى العالمي المعني بالأمن الغذائي والتغذية

شهد جنوب آسيا نمواً اقتصادياً مذهلا على مدار العقدين الماضيين، إلا أن هذه المنطقة تُسجل أعلى معدل لسوء تغذية الأطفال في العالم؛ إذ يعاني 4 من كل 10 أطفال من سوء تغذية مزمن. وإذا ما نظرنا إلى الدور المحوري الذي تلعبه تدخلات التغذية في رعاية الطفل، لوجدنا أن أغلبها يستهدف المرأة، ومع ذلك لا تزال المشكلة قائمة. إذاً، ما الذي ينقص ما نجريه من أبحاث وتحليلات وما نضعه من سياسات؟

تعتبر زيادة الوزن والسمنة من المشاكل الخطيرة التي تهدد الصحة العامة في العديد من الدول، الأمر الذي يتطلب اتخاذ تدابير عاجلة على كافة المستويات.

ولضمان نجاح تنفيذ البرامج والسياسات العامة، ينبغي أن تستند هذه البرامج والسياسات على الأدلة العلمية والتدخلات المؤكدة.  

تهدف هذه المناقشة إلى تقديم فكرة أفضل عن شكل البرامج والسياسات المطلوبة للنجاح في مكافحة مشكلتي زيادة الوزن والسمنة والدروس التي يمكن استفادتها من المبادرات الحالية.

تعد البقول من المحاصيل الغذائية المهمة التي تلعب دوراً محورياً في حل مشكلة الأمن الغذائي العالمي وفي مواجهة التحديات البيئية، فضلا عن دخولها في النظم الغذائية الصحية. واعترافاً بمساهمة البقول في صحة البشر وسلامة البيئة، أعلنت الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة عام 2016 سنة دولية للبقول. 

Organized in the context of the International Year of Pulses 2016, this webinar hosted the FAO experts Teodardo Calles and Fernanda Grande who presented the benefits of pulses from an agro-ecological and nutritional perspective. The presentations of the two experts were followed by a question and answer session which allowed participants to engage in a brief round of discussion.

The ‘Zero draft’ of the Voluntary Guidelines for Sustainable Soil Management (VGSSM), developed in order to promote sustainable soil management effectively in all regions, needs your contribution. Your input will  allow the Intergovernmental Technical Panel on Soils (ITPS) to better frame the multifaceted needs of all the stakeholders.

The next few decades will witness a rapidly increasing demand for agricultural products. This growing demand needs to be met largely through intensification (produce more from the same land surface) because there is little scope for an increase in agricultural area. Ecological intensification - the optimization of all provisioning, regulating and supporting ecosystem services in the agricultural production process - has been proposed as a promising solution. The aim of this discussion is to foster a dialogue on emerging knowledge from research on ecological intensification.
