Forum global sur la sécurité alimentaire et la nutrition (Forum FSN)

Dear FSN Members,

With different partners, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) is committed to the World Urban Forum V (WUF V). The WUF V will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 22 to 26 March. Its theme is: “The Right to the City, Bridging the Urban Divide” (www.unhabitat.org/WUF).

Food and agriculture issues are at stake as they are a growing concern as well as a part of the solution.

The links between food security in cities, urban-centred food systems and urban-rural linkages have been considered as particularly relevant and highlighted by different contributions during the FSN-Forum discussion held in November. We also aim to underline the importance of the right to food in a good governance process.

Based on these orientations, we want to go further and ask for your ideas, contributions and inputs that could be used for a conclusive statement related to food, agriculture and cities to be finalized during the WUF V.

Short and focused, one- or two-paragraph contributions in either English, French, Spanish or Portuguese would be most appreciated.
