Rodrigue Idohou has a Ph.D. in Applied Biosciences and the conservation of phytogenetic resources. In 2016, Rodrigue was a postdoc fellow in the Ecology and Evolution Department, at the University of Kansas (USA). He is a Senior Lecturer and researcher and is currently head of the research unit at the Laboratory of Biomathematics and Forest Estimations. His focus is on the use of science to sustainably contribute to better ecosystem management while contributing to food security and nutrition reach in sub-Saharan Africa. He is a prolific researcher (67 scientific papers) and took part in more than 20 international conferences across the world. He is also a contributor to two books. Rodrigue is a recipient of several awards such as The Global minds, the African German Network for Excellence in Science Award, the most prestigious Robert S. McNamara Fellowships Program (RSM), the Global development network (GDN), and the JRS Biodiversity award. He also contributed to 7 collaborative grants. He is a young affiliate of the African Academy of Sciences (the AAS) and also affiliated with international organizations such as the International Union of Forest Research Organization (IUFRO since 2017), IUCN (commission on ecosystem management since 2013), World Association of Young Scientists (since 2013), Explorers Club Grant Funding (since 2012), and Global Youth Biodiversity Network (since 2012).
