Through this discussion we wish to promote dialogue around family farming issues. What can be done to make agriculture stimulating and profitable for young people and what strategies can promote equality for females working in the food system? 

The degree to which the Food Security and Nutrition information produced is actually used by decision makers, and influences policy making, remains unclear. Through this discussion we would like to explore the factors that contribute to our evidence and knowledge actually being used in policy making processes.

To follow up on two rounds of online discussions on the draft Declaration of the Second International Conference on Nutrition (ICN2) held earlier this year, we now invite you to share your comments and inputs on the zero draft of the Framework for Action (FFA). This open consultation gives you an opportunity to contribute to the Conference and to its outcome.

The aim of this forum’s discussion, organized jointly with the ICEAN network, is to identify potential action points and initiatives whereby nutrition education can improve the diet of family farmers and create demand for nutritious local produce among the general public, thus both generating income for farming households and enhancing the nutrition of the public.

10 years ago FAO member states produced and adopted The Right to Food Guidelines, which provide practical guidance on how the human right to adequate food can be realized. The goal of this online discussion is to learn from the first ten years of using the Right to Food Guidelines to get better for the future.

In the context of the International Year of Family Farming, this discussion targets those active in family farming who have suggestions on how to improve livelihoods of female farmers and how to encourage youth to pursue family farming.

Share your comments on the revised draft of the Rome Declaration on Nutrition, which will be endorsed at the upcoming Second International Conference on Nutrition (ICN2).

В 2010 году Комитет по всемирной продовольственной безопасности (КВПБ) пришел к выводу, что затяжные кризисы требуют особого внимания. Был начат процесс консультаций для разработки и обеспечения широкого участия в создании документа «План действий по решению проблемы отсутствия продовольственной̆ безопасности при затяжных кризисах» (CFS-A4A). Данная онлайн- консультация будет отталкиваться от полученных на настоящий момент отзывов, предоставляя возможности частным лицам и организациям, которые не смогли принять участие в очных заседаниях.

CFS has started a process of selection and prioritization of activities for the biennium 2016-2017. Though this online discussion, the CFS Secretariat  would like to invite all those interested to provide inputs to this process. 

Social farming (also called care farming) is an innovative approach for promoting women’s economic empowerment, rural employment and the social inclusion of vulnerable people. The aim of the discussion is to gather examples of the use of care farming in developing countries.
