Gender Equality and Women’s and Girls’ Empowerment in the Context of Food Security and Nutrition

Launched at the CFS 52 Forum Session on the Uptake of the CFS Voluntary Guidelines on Gender Equality and Women’s and Girls’ Empowerment in the Context of Food Security and Nutrition ( https://www.fao.org/cfs/plenary/cfs52... ) this video aims to inspire and mobilize action around the implementation of these Guidelines by CFS Members and stakeholders at global, regional, and national levels.

These Guidelines were developed over a rigorous three-year consultation process that engaged all CFS stakeholders—including Member States, UN agencies and bodies, civil society, NGOs, international agricultural research institutions, financial institutions, and private sector and philanthropic representatives. After extensive negotiation, the Guidelines were endorsed at the CFS 51st Plenary session in October 2023.
