In December 2025, FAO published seven “Trade policy briefs: FAO support to the WTO negotiations at the 14th Ministerial Conference”: (1) Trade in fisheries and aquaculture products: Global markets, production, and food security; (2) Leveraging environment-related provisions linked to agriculture, fisheries and forestry in regional trade agreements to strengthen environmental governance; (3) Advancing women’s participation in agrifood trade through inclusive policies; (4) The WTO Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies: FAO’s support to Members in its implementation; (5) The dynamic impact of global shipping costs on the food import bill; (6) Trade and Nutrition: Association and policy approaches; and (7) Agricultural Outlook 2025–2034: Medium-term prospects for global agricultural commodity markets.
This virtual information session, organized by the FAO Liaison Office in Geneva in collaboration with FAO’s Markets and Trade Division, will present trade policy briefs, highlighting FAO’s support to the World Trade Organization negotiations in the lead-up to the 14th Ministerial Conference. The presentations by the authors of the trade policy briefs will be followed by a Q&A session.
